Welcome to MetEngage! |
||
Hello Residents of Forest Hill, Perry Vale and Crofton Park,
I hope all is well and welcome to Met Engage! I am Nathan, the Sergeant for Perry Vale, Crofton Park and Forest Hill Neighbourhood Team and i wanted to reach out to firstly welcome you to our new Community Hub and also show you some of the positive work the team have been doing recently within your wards and surrounding wards which i am sure you will be pleased about. Today is the first day Met Engage has begun within the Metropolitan Police and i personally believe this will be a great way to communicate with each other using this system. You can directly message the team via the website/app and the team will respond to any queries you may have or reach out about. We will also be looking to begin community surveys, which we will share with yourselves, in order to get an idea on what type of issues exactly affect you and we can then look at what we can do to respond to them issues. I must always remind you that if you happen to be in a situation involving a serious incident or life or death then please still continue to call 999 or 101.
The team have been busy recently with various arrests and other incidents and i wanted to highlight just some of the good work the team have done. Two weeks ago the team stopped an individual who was in a vehicle parked in Perry Vale in a small car park. Upon speaking to this male it was established that the vehicle he was in was actually a cloned vehicle and was in fact a stolen vehicle which was stolen from Lewisham a week prior! The male was arrested and is currently on bail pending enquiries, such as CCTV work to be completed. Last week officers from your team arrested a male on a vehicle stop after it was believed he had committed an aggravated burglary just four hours previously in Kent. It was alleged that this individual had held a family at knifepoint and stolen a large amount of cash and other items. This male was arrested by the team after seeing the vehicle being driven and stopping him whilst he was parking up in a car park, to which he was subsequently arrested for aggravated burglary and taken to custody. Enquiries remain ongoing. Also last week, officers stopped a vehicle in Sydenham which had three male occupants who were all subject to a stop and search. In the vehicle they were driving in was a rucksack which contained various items used to commit burglaries. One of the males had also been identified as being linked to 18 residential burglaries and they have all been charged and remanded in prison pending their sentencing!
This is just a small pinch of the great work your team are doing in your area and they will continue to listen to your concerns and action them where they can. I look forward to hearing from you all about your issues in your area and please share the message with your neighbours and friends to get them to sign up to Met Engage so we can have a stronger and larger community to combat our local issues and also reduce the issues from occurring in your area.
Have a great week, PS Nathan Munday | ||
